BRO rescues 117 stranded vehicles from HP's 16k-ft Baralacha pass

At least 117 vehicles stranded on the Manali-Leh highway were rescued by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) after a 14-hour operation that ended on Saturday. Heavy snowfall had blocked the highway at 16,040 feet at Baralacha La pass. "The vehicles were camping in Himachal Pradesh after the sudden closure of the...highway on the afternoon of April 4," BRO spokesperson said.
