Brunei's Sultan returns Oxford degree over anti-gay laws backlash

Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah has returned an honorary degree awarded by Oxford University after he faced backlash over the new anti-gay laws in his country. Brunei had initially introduced death by stoning for gay sex, but later backtracked on it following criticism. Over 1.18 lakh people had signed a petition calling on the university to revoke the honorary degree.
