BSF's modernisation: new battalions, troop surge and strategic HQS

The Border Security Force (BSF) is awaiting final approval from the government to raise 16 new battalions, recruit 17,000 additional troopers, and establish two forward headquarters along the Pakistan and Bangladesh borders. According to a blueprint being prepared by the force, the new battalions will bolster the BSF’s core mandate of securing these international frontiers.
