BT Group to lay off up to 55,000 employees worldwide

BT Group, Britain's biggest broadband and mobile provider, will cut up to 55,000 of its workforce by 2030. The layoffs will potentially mark more than 40% of its workforce reduction as it completes its fibre rollout and adapts to new technologies such as AI. The development comes after Vodafone announced cutting 11,000 jobs over the next three years.
