BTS boycott Grammys over new Asian pop award category, CEO responds

K-pop group BTS withdrew from the 2027 Grammys after introduction of a new Asian Pop category, stating that music should be "loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language." Grammy CEO Harvey Mason Jr said he was "saddened" by the decision. He explained that winning in the new category didn't rule out headline award wins.
