Bubble wrap was originally designed to be used as wallpaper
Bubble wrap was invented in 1957 by Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes as a textured wallpaper. To make the wallpaper, they sealed two shower curtains together, making sure that air bubbles were captured. When the wallpaper idea failed, the duo marketed it as a greenhouse insulator. It was only in 1960 that the creation was marketed as a packaging material.
