Buddhist monastery bombed by Myanmar military, 14 killed

Myanmar's military bombed a Buddhist monastery in the central Sagaing region, killing 14 people who were taking part in a week-long meditation retreat. Twenty others were wounded as a fighter jet dropped two bombs 15 minutes apart, a local said. Myanmar's military has been targeting armed pro-democracy forces and ethnic armed groups, with the strikes often causing civilian casualties.
