Buyers of e-vehicles in Chandigarh may no longer get incentive

Chandigarh EV buyers may not get incentives despite the UT raising the e-car quota from 2,000 to 3,500 units in July 2024. The ₹1–1.5 lakh subsidy was stopped after the initial 2,000 cap was exhausted. The revised proposal may not be sent to the MHA as the 5-year policy (launched 2022) ends next year. Over 20,000 EVs are registered in the city.
