B'wood has tendency to romanticise brothels: Vivek on 'Heeramandi'

Reacting to a Pakistani doctor's criticism of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Heeramandi', filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri said Bollywood has a "tendency to romanticise courtesans and brothels". "It's a sad commentary because brothels have never been places of opulence, glamour or beauty...Is it okay to portray slum dwellers wearing clothes as if they are attending an Ambani wedding?" Vivek wrote on X.
