BYJU'S CEO Byju Raveendran failed as he expanded the startup through expensive acquisitions and was slow in addressing problems, according to multiple former executives and advisers who worked with him. A former executive said Byju presented a "suave, nice and polished" image appearing to heed advice but "eventually there was a trust deficit". Executives said Byju splurged on marketing.
