BYJU'S fined ₹20,000 over delay in response to insolvency plea

The National Company Law Tribunal on Wednesday imposed a penalty of ₹20,000 on troubled edtech startup BYJU'S for failing to respond to an insolvency plea filed against it. Surfer Technologies had filed the plea in February, complaining that the firm owes them ₹2.3 crore. Surfer is the fourth entity to approach the NCLT against BYJU'S.
