ByteDance to buy $7bn NVIDIA chips despite US restrictions: Report

TikTok's Chinese parent firm ByteDance plans to buy NVIDIA chips worth $7 billion next year, The Information reported. This comes despite US restrictions on exports of advanced AI chips to China. ByteDance reportedly plans to circumvent the restrictions by storing the chips in data centres located in other regions like Southeast Asia.
