C Rajagopalachari’s statue replaces Lutyens' at Rashtrapati Bhavan

The statue of former Minister of Home Affairs of India, C Rajagopalachari, was installed at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, replacing the statue of British architect and Rashtrapati Bhavan designer Edwin Lutyens. The country is moving away from the "symbols of colonialism" and "beginning to embrace symbols of Indian culture", PM Modi had said during his 'Mann Ki Baat' programme.
