Cabinet approves plan to add Himachal's Hatti community to ST list

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved an amendment bill which gives tribal status to Himachal Pradesh's Hatti community. PM Narendra Modi chaired the Cabinet meeting. Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda said the Cabinet further approved proposals to give Scheduled Tribes (ST) status to the Narikoravan and Kurivikkaran communities in Tamil Nadu and the Binjhia community in Chhattisgarh.
