Cabinet clears ₹41,500-crore budget for fertiliser subsidies

The Union Cabinet has cleared ₹41,534-crore budget for Phosphatic and Potassic fertiliser subsidies, raising them by 11.6% over 2025. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, "It is clear that the West Asia conflict has had an effect on [fertilisers]...That has been kept in mind when today’s approval was done." The subsidy provides farmers with nutrient-based fertilisers at lower-than-market prices.
