Calcutta HC rejects Abhishek Banerjee's plea to travel abroad for eye treatment

The Calcutta High Court on Monday rejected Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee's plea to travel abroad for eye treatment, directing him to undergo evaluation at state-run SSKM Hospital in Kolkata. Justice Sougata Bhattacharya said the court would decide on the matter after reviewing the report of a medical board constituted by the hospital's Ophthalmology Department.
