California approves $25 mn to shield immigrants amid Trump's curbs
California Governor Gavin Newsom signed laws setting aside $50 million to help state protect its policies from challenges by US President Donald Trump's administration. One of the laws allocates $25 million from this amount to shield immigrants from Trump's mass-deportation plans. Over 11,000 people have been deported from US to countries like Guatemala, Colombia, Mexico after Trump took office.
