California bans employers from using only AI to fire employees

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed the 'No Robo Bosses Act', prohibiting employers from relying solely on AI to fire or discipline workers. Employers must involve a human reviewer when AI is primarily relied upon for such decisions. The reviewer must consider relevant information, including managerial assessments, personnel records and peer evaluations.
