California court allows lawsuit against 'The Pitt' to proceed

A California appeals court unanimously ruled that a lawsuit alleging 'The Pitt' is an unauthorised reboot of 'ER' can move forward, finding the shows 'similar enough'. The lawsuit, filed by ER creator Michael Crichton's widow Sherri, claims Warner Bros bypassed a 'frozen rights' contract clause. Noah Wyle and two producers were dismissed as defendants.
