California is 1st US state to ban testing on dogs & cats for consumer products

California on Monday became the first state in the US to ban unnecessary harmful chemical testing on cats and dogs for consumer products. Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law that prohibits manufacturers and testing facilities from using traditional animal test methods on cats and dogs when alternatives are available. Notably, animal testing for medical purposes is still permitted.
