California passes school food bill to ban dyes in foods

The California Legislature has passed a bill with bipartisan support banning the use of six chemicals in foods served in public schools in the state. If signed into law, the bill would forbid the use of the ingredients found in some popular cereals, ice creams and drinks, according to the Environmental Working Group that cosponsored the law with Consumer Reports.
