California's 3,400-acre Delta wetland project restored

California completed the Lookout Slough tidal restoration project in Solano County in September 2024, restoring 3,400 acres of Delta habitat for the first time in 100 years. Part of the EcoRestore initiative targeting 30,000 acres, the project also provides 100-year flood protection and 40,000 acre-feet of flood storage for Central Valley communities.
