Call drop helps techie escape digital arrest scam after 24 hours in Hyderabad

A 44-year-old techie from Hyderabad managed to escape digital arrest scam after the fraudsters' call dropped, enabling him to contact cyber crime helpline. The man received texts claiming his Aadhaar was linked to a money laundering case, following which he got a call from fraudsters posing as Mumbai Police officials. They forced him to stay on video call until verification.
