Calling India secular in Constitution is like calling water wet: Wangchuk's wife Gitanjali

Activist Sonam Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali Angmo, called the word secular a Western import, saying that calling India "secular" in the Constitution is like calling water wet. "Even before 1976, our Constitution was already secular in substance," she added. She highlighted Article 14, Article 25 to 28, Article 29 and 30. "Adding 'secular' to Preamble was, philosophically, a tautology," she said.
