Cambridge to open ₹260 cr AI hub to develop medicines using human tissues

The Medical Research Council (MRC) has announced a ₹260-crore (£20 million) research hub led by the University of Cambridge to develop medicines using AI. The project aims to accelerate new treatments and reduce animal testing by using human tissues. The hub will also use stem cells and organoids, which are tiny lab-grown organs, to help develop and test potential medicines.
