Pelvic vein compression by large uterine fibroids can impair venous return, leading to dependent oedema. Diagnostic imaging—including pelvic ultrasound and MRI—helps identify vascular involvement. Surgical or pharmacological management of fibroids has been shown to alleviate associated leg swelling by restoring hemodynamic balance in the lower extremities.
