Canada becomes first country to retaliate to Trump's reciprocal tariffs
Canadian PM Mark Carney announced that Canada will impose 25% tariff on all vehicles imported from US that aren't compliant with US-Mexico-Canada trade deal. This makes Canada the first country to retaliate against reciprocal tariffs. US said tariffs announced earlier will be imposed on Canada but the latest reciprocal tariffs, imposed on about 60 countries, won't be effective, Carney noted.
