Canada cuts study permits to Indian students by 31% in Q1 2025

Canada has reduced the number of study permits issued to Indian students by nearly 31% in the first quarter of 2025 in comparison to first quarter of 2024. According to data from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Indian students were issued 30,640 permits in first quarter of 2025, while 44,295 permits were issued during the same period last year.
