Canada enacts anti-hate law to curb propaganda by pro-Khalistan elements, other groups
Canada has enacted a new anti-hate law, Bill C-9, which amends the criminal code to counter hate propaganda and hate crimes, including activities linked to pro-Khalistan elements. The law creates a new offence against intimidation intended to create fear and prevent people from accessing places of worship. It also introduces "protest bubbles", restricting demonstrations near religious sites.
