Canada expands aid to people, businesses affected by Omicron surge
Canada is set to temporarily expand financial assistance to individuals and businesses affected by the spread of the Omicron variant, PM Justin Trudeau said. Eligibility for programmes such as Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit, among others will be expanded in view of tightening curbs amid rising COVID-19 cases. Canada has reported over 2,360 confirmed Omicron cases.
