Canada's upper house of parliament on Tuesday voted 52-29 in favour of a bill to legalise recreational marijuana, becoming the first G7 nation to legalise cannabis. The measure is expected to come into effect in two or three months. Adults will now be allowed to carry up to 30 grams of dried cannabis in a "public space".
