Canada's Ismael Kone to undergo surgery after breaking leg against Qatar
Canada midfielder Ismael Koné will undergo surgery after suffering a broken left leg during his side's FIFA World Cup 2026 clash against Qatar on Friday. Koné sustained the injury after a tackle from Qatar midfielder Assim Madibo, with the latter subsequently sent off. Nathan-Dylan Saliba, who replaced Koné, scored Canada's fourth goal in the 6-0 victory.
