Canada stops accepting PR for parents, grandparents

Canada has indefinitely paused new PR applications for parents and grandparents under the Family Class stream as of January 2025. Applications submitted in 2024 will still be processed, with a cap of 15,000. Families can opt for the Super Visa, which allows long-term visits. This move addresses a backlog of over 40,000 applications while prioritising streamlined immigration processing.
