Canada suspends trade talks with US, to face Trump's 50% tariffs from midnight

US and Canada failed to reach a trade deal after three days of talks, prompting Washington to impose 50% tariffs on around $20 billion worth of Canadian goods from midnight. Canadian PM Mark Carney said Ottawa suspended negotiations after “last-minute changes” to US terms were deemed unfair. Canada would impose reciprocal tariffs on US goods "dollar for dollar", he added.
