Canada to reduce reliance on US, boost Arctic defence

Canadian PM Mark Carney unveiled a $25.7 billion (₹2.36 lakh crore) plan to boost Canada's defences in Arctic region to decrease its reliance on US. Canada has depended on US assistance to monitor Canadian Arctic for many years. Recent tariffs and annexation remarks by Donald Trump have strained their relations.
