Cannot help but draw painful parallels to Nirbhaya case: SC on recent Delhi-NCR rape cases

The Supreme Court took suo motu cognisance of recent rape cases in Delhi-NCR, observing that one "cannot help but draw painful parallels" with 2012 Nirbhaya case. Justice JB Pardiwala said the incidents highlight failures in law enforcement and public safety. A 16-year-old girl was recently raped inside bus in Delhi-NCR and a 17-year-old girl gang-raped in park near Kalkaji Mandir.
