Can't rule out time travel currently: Hawking in posthumous book

In his recently published book 'Brief Answers To The Big Questions', late British physicist Stephen Hawking says the possibility of time travel in future can't be ruled out based on current understanding. "If one made a research grant application to work on time travel it would be dismissed immediately," wrote Hawking, adding, "Today's science fiction is often tomorrow's science fact."
