Can't stop heartbeat: Supreme Court on refusing to end 26-week pregnancy

The Supreme Court rejected a woman's request to terminate her 26-week pregnancy and remarked the apex court "cannot stop a heartbeat". "Pregnancy is 26 weeks and 5 days. Allowing termination of pregnancy will violate the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act as there's no immediate danger to the mother, and this isn't a case of foetal abnormality," CJI DY Chandrachud said.
