Can't support operation in Rafah as it is currently envisioned: US

The US said that it cannot support Israel's operation in Gaza's Rafah in the manner that it is currently envisioned. "We believe a military operation in Rafah right now would dramatically increase the suffering of the Palestinian people," the US State Department has said. Israel has ordered Palestinians to evacuate Rafah and also launched targeted strikes there, killing 22 people.
