CAQM issues show-cause notices to Punjab officials over stubble burning

CAQM has issued show-cause notices to DCs and SSPs of Gurdaspur and Kapurthala over rising stubble-burning incidents. Kapurthala recorded 99 fire incidents (Sep 15–Nov 2, 2026), up from 96 in 2025. No action was taken against officials under Section 14 of the CAQM Act. Officials must respond by November 6. Delhi's AQI touched has surpassed the mark of 450.
