Cargo clearance to be done in 24 hrs to ease West Asia war impact: Report

Government has initiated consultations with industry to limit impact of war in West Asia on Indian importers and exporters. Among the key measures is ensuring that cargo clearance is completed within 24 hours for compliant importers, which currently takes an average of 3-5 days, Moneycontrol reported. Government is considering institutionalising uniform, risk-based assessments across major ports.
