Carolina Marin, who defeated PV Sindhu in 2016 Olympics final, retires at 32
Three-time world champion Carolina Marin, who defeated PV Sindhu in 2016 Olympics final and pulled out of 2024 Olympics in semi-final due to knee injury, has retired aged 32. "Deep down...I did retire on court...in Paris in 2024. We just didn't know it at the time," she said. She's the first non-Asian shuttler to win Olympic gold in women's singles.
