Cars fall into pit as part of highway collapses in China, 19 dead

At least 19 individuals were killed when a portion of a highway collapsed in Guangdong province, southern China, on Wednesday. The incident occurred between Meizhou city and Dabu County. According to CCTV, 18 vehicles involving 49 people were trapped. Social media footage showed flames and smoke rising from a deep, dark pit into which cars seemed to have plummeted.
