Case of human Plague, known as 'Black Death', detected in US
A human case of the plague, a potentially life-threatening disease caused by Yersinia pestis bacterium, has been reported in US' Colorado. According to US' CDC, people get the plague after being bitten by a rodent flea carrying the bacterium. Plague caused an estimated 50 million deaths in Europe during the Middle Ages when it was known as the Black Death.
