CBI, ED, police don't arrest through video calls: Govt amid digital arrest cases

The government issued a public advisory amid the rising cases of 'digital arrest' crimes. Terming it a scam, the government said, "Don't Panic, Stay Alert. CBI, police, customs, ED or judges do not arrest people through video calls." Recently, Padma Bhushan awardee SP Oswal was put under digital arrest and cheated of ₹7 crore by fraudsters posing as CBI officers.
