CBI seeks death penalty for RG Kar rape convict Sanjay Roy in HC

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has approached the Calcutta High Court and sought a death penalty for RG Kar rape-murder convict Sanjay Roy. This comes after a Kolkata court sentenced Roy to life imprisonment till death. The court had rejected CBI's plea seeking the death penalty saying the case "doesn't fall in the 'rarest of the rare' category".
