CBSE directs schools to set up 'Sugar Boards' to curb rising diabetes among students

CBSE has written to affiliated schools to set up 'Sugar Boards' to monitor sugar consumption among students. It aims to lower risk of Type 2 diabetes and obesity in children. CBSE said high sugar intake, due to easy availability of sugary snacks and beverages within school environments has caused significant increase in Type 2 diabetes among children in past decade.
