Census 2027 to include transgender-headed households

The Census 2027 will include households headed by transgenders, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said in a written response in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. Addressing the first phase of the census, he said, "Sex of head of household, Male/Female/Transgender will be collected." He added that enumerators will go house-to-house to avoid any exclusion.
