Census to begin early in poll-bound UP, Punjab, Goa & Uttarakhand

Population enumeration for Census 2027 will begin early in four poll-bound states, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, and Uttarakhand, ahead of assembly elections due next year. The Census will be held from December 1 to January 4 in these states, while self-enumeration will begin from November 16. The Census for other parts of the country is expected to begin in February.
