Central Railway starts auto freight from Igatpuri shed
Central Railway has launched its first automobile loading operation from Igatpuri Goods Shed, marking a major freight expansion. Around 100 cars from Mahindra's Nashik plant were transported in 25 NMG wagons to Nautanwa, generating ₹17.16 lakh revenue. The move boosts rail-based vehicle logistics, cutting costs, transit time, and carbon emissions while easing highway congestion.
